Pre-School
A custom-built playroom designed to inspire and engage.
In their final academic ‘nursery’ year, our Globetrotters transition over to Wild at Heart Preschool and have an adult for every 8 children.
This custom built playroom was created from scratch in 2023. It is an African theme called Park Rangers which houses their own art area, toilets, kitchen, outdoor area and humongous raised play loft.
Their secure playground joins into the nursery main garden and they eat their main meals in the Oasis still, so the nursery remains as one cohesive site.
12 months after opening, the garden at the rear of our new preschool was redeveloped by Newby Leisure; the same company who created our first adventure playground. Everything in this new playground is set to challenge our Globetrotters even further with a humongous climbing tower and slide, flat Astro pitch and gravel engineering station.
In September 2024 we because a finalist for the Nursery World Business Development Award. Shortlisted to the top 5 in the country for our brand new preschool this was a huge achievement.
“The care and attention that each member of staff gives to the children is impeccable and it shows when my son talks about them at home. The staff have helped my son come along way since he started with WAH and he feels safe there knowing there is always someone he can go to if he starts feeling overwhelmed.”
“Anna is always happy to help with any questions you might have and they all put your mind at ease. I’m so glad I found this nursery and all of its beautiful surroundings.”
“There are no words for this incredible nursery… the staff, the ethos, the facilities and the whole approach at Wild At Heart is amazing. I am forever grateful this is where my children attend and the smiles I see and stories they share from their day are priceless memories and experiences in these precious early years.”
“Choosing to send your child to wild at heart will be one of the best decisions you will have to make for them. I promise you WILL NOT regret it.”
“I cannot recommend wild at heart enough. My 4 year old starts school in September after being there since she was 17 months old and I truly believe she’s been given the best start in life because of their love, support and just pure passion for early years and everything they do for the children there.”
Beyond the Surface: A Complete Review
“Where to even begin…. My journey with WAH is soon to be coming to an end – my youngest is an autumn baby and starts school this September.
WAH has been part of my daily life for the last 4 years and is completely bespoke, designed around the children it cares for so passionately. Its child centred, child focused approach to care has been more apparent over this past year following their expansion into a new preschool building – something that my son was one of the first to experience.
Prior to this, and as his birthday is autumn, his journey through WAH meant he would have spent two years in the same building. As any parent knows, a familiar setting can quickly become over familiar, boring, and monotonous and can often lead to disregulation – this was soon realised by Anna. Not only did she innovatively design another room for those ‘preschoolers’, but the design itself focused on a more independent, child led play approach allowing children to learn new skills which help with transition to school – this forward thinking approach has meant my son has continued to grow, prosper and learn in an environment bespoke to his developmental needs.
The building itself was up and ready in record speed thanks to the drive of Anna as well as all the locally sourced tradesmen who worked tirelessly to bring a building to life that would benefit the whole community – their own children included. And now my son is reaping the benefits – he continues to never ever be anything other than happy and excited to go to nursery each day and as a full time working mum, this really warms my heart.
The development of the new building should be celebrated. Without the passion of Anna, and all her staff, children would not have such an invaluable experience. As such small seeds, all the children attending WAH are cared for above and beyond, and allowed to grow, play and most importantly have fun in a setting that is not only designed around their needs, but that is safe and nurturing.
Since transitioning to the new building, I have watched my son grow in confidence, learn life skills and bloom into the independent boy he is today.
A boy that has the fundamental building blocks to show kindness, know his worth, and know the value of friendship.
A boy that will be an asset to the world in his life as he grows.
A boy, that as a tiny seed, was very much allowed and encouraged to be wild at heart.”
